Scholarship

In the late fall of each academic year, MNABA awards one or more scholarships to a Native American student or students attending one of the three Minnesota law schools (University of Minnesota Law School, Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and University of St. Thomas School of Law). The Minnesota Native American Bar Association (MNABA) is proud to announce that applications are now open for the 2025–2026 MNABA Law Student Scholarship! This scholarship supports Native law students attending Minnesota law schools who demonstrate a commitment to serving Native communities and advancing justice.

Deadline: Monday, November 3, 2025

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be an Associate Member of MNABA as a law student

• Be a second-, third-, or fourth-year law student during the 2025–2026 academic year; and
• Submit a completed, signed application form (attached), along with any additional optional materials.

MNABA also awards the Jodi Drews Memorial Scholarship, an additional amount of scholarship funds honoring Jodi’s lifelong dedication to Native youth and justice. Applicants who wish to be considered for this special award are encouraged to review Jodi’s memorial (attached) and submit materials that reflect her spirit and commitment to community.
